A Georgia native, Hall served as the opening act for Valory Music Company recording artist Thomas Rhett. He performed songs that will appear on his forthcoming EP.
He opened his show with the soaring and up-tempo "Light Up The Night," where he was able to captivate his fans from the first note. He introduced himself to the crowd and asked if they were ready for Thomas Rhett.
It was followed by "Show Me Whatcha Got," where he showed off his country-rock side. "All right, New York. Do we have any Prince fans in here?" he asked, prior to delivering a fine rendition of Prince's "Purple Rain."
"Is it all right to play a new song for you?" Hall asked. "Where are the ladies tonight?" He accompanied himself on acoustic guitar on the stunning ballad "Lovers Lullaby," as the stage was graced in vibrant green lights.
He continued with a medley of classic tunes by such artists as Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, both of which he dubbed as two of his "biggest idols."
After his version of "Call Me The Breeze," he expressed his gratitude to the fans and thanked them for hanging out with him and his band tonight.
He covered John Mayer's "Gravity" in a laid-back and mellow performance, which was enriched with his falsetto, and he closed with "Dynamite."
"Give yourselves a round of applause for being so awesome," he told the fans.
The Verdict
Alex Hall was superb at The Paramount. He proved that it is only a matter of time before other country acts will start opening for him. His live show garnered an A rating.
