Pacquiao first met with Mayweather during the halftime break of the NBA game between Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks more than two weeks ago.
In their last two face-to-face meetings, Pacquiao did most of the listening while Mayweather won the off-ring round for having dominated the hour-long meeting.
While Mayweather was talking, Pacquiao was listening intently to what Mayweather was saying on both meetings and upon his return to the Philippines, the eight-division titleholder has good words for the unbeaten champ.
In a dinner hosted by Pacquiao in his General Santos City home in the Philippines, Pacquiao talked about his encounter with Mayweather and told everyone his impression of the world's richest boxer. Read more.
“When Floyd approached me across the court, we were surrounded by a lot of people. Maybe they're thinking that we're going to fight, there and then,” Pacquiao quipped.
“Later that night he visited me at my hotel. He did most the talking, and I just listened. I think Floyd is essentially a good person, a nice person,” Pacquiao, who is known as a man of few words, humble and compassionate, observed of Floyd. “However, when Floyd is surrounded by his people, his attitude changes and he becomes bossy,” Pacquiao added.
During their last two meetings, Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz was present and did most of the talking with Mayweather.
While Koncz did not confirm Pacquiao's own personal observation, he did say that Mayweather appears to be a sincere person based on his personal assessment after the last meeting.
“This was more of a private business meeting, and I believe that as of today, Floyd is sincere about wanting the fight after last night,” said Koncz.
Koncz and Pacquiao have remained tight-lipped on the ongoing negotiations saying only that Mayweather will do the official announcement of the result of the long-running fight talks.
