Mayweather and Pacquiao met earlier in Florida right after the Filipino boxing star acted as one of the judges of the recently-concluded Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.
While watching the NBA game between the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Arena, Mayweather had a brief chat with Pacquiao during the halftime break. The brief encounter was followed by an hour-long meeting at Pacquiao's hotel in Miami.
Multiple sources say that Mayweather and Pacquiao have agreed to face each other in the ring on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was reported last week that Mayweather would be traveling to Australia for a series of promotional engagements and one of the highlights of his promotional tour there was to make the official announcement for the long-awaited fight.
But in a subsequent report, Mayweather and some of members of his entourage have yet to be issued a visa to enter Australia. In the case of Mayweather, the Australian foreign office has reportedly withheld approval of his visa on security issues, which has something to do with Mayweather's criminal record.
The au.ibtimes.com reported that the trip has been rescheduled on February 5.
By maximizing the impact of the announcement, Mayweather and Pacquiao have reportedly made a commercial for the Super Bowl event fueling speculations that Mayweather will make the official announcement on Sunday's opening game.
