The female country duo penned their tune "Girl In A Country Song" in March of this year, and they were subsequently signed to their record label, Dot Records, an imprint of the Big Machine Label Group. Fast forward half a year later, and the girls are at the Top 5 on the Billboard country charts with "Girl In A Country Song," which has also been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 units.
Maddie & Tae's hit single is an anthem of female empowerment, especially since it takes a firm stance against "bro-country" songs that are played on repeat on the modern country radio airwaves.
This past summer, the girls performed the song at the Nash FM studio in New York City, and they shared that stage with label-mate RaeLynn, who is best known for her breakthrough single "God Made Girls."
