Luke King was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, after he pleaded guilty to harassment without violence. King published intimate photos of a woman back in August. This came after he made some threats to her.
According to Mashable, the woman, who was not named, told authorities that she was really upset and disgusted by the whole ordeal. She added that she sent the images for King's eyes only.
The woman contacted police to tell them that her ex-boyfriend threatened to post the photos, which he did despite being warned.
Further contact with King should be prevented, thanks to a restraining order the woman has against him.
Authorities praised the victim for coming forward and bringing the matter to their attention, and for her support in bringing King to justice.
A guidance was issued last month, and it clarifies how prosecutors can use existing laws to prosecute those who commit such intrusive offenses.
Authorities said it's important for people to realize that it's an offense to harass others, and that they agreed with the judge that what King did was despicable.
Authorities continued to say if anybody is subjected to this type of crime, then they should keep the evidence and contact police.
