According to Fox, earlier this year, documetary companies spent $50,000 on the mass excavation of a landfill to find the games, which included "Asteroids," "Defender," "Warlords," "E.T.," and "Missile Command." More than 50 game titles were found
Some of the games have asking prices as high as $500, according to Game Spot.
According to ABC, the city has warned that many of the games are not playable, but purchasers will receive a piece of the lore of the games.
Some of the other games have bids on them for around $50. Also, some of the games will be sent to museums.
The video games were uncovered by Microsoft Entertainment Studios, which is shooting a documentary about Atari. There were rumors about how Atari dumped truckloads of games and other equipment at the landfill back in 1983. The report was eventually confirmed earlier this year.
The games will remain on eBay until November 13, and more games might be listed after the auction.
