Scott co-wrote the song with fellow songwriter Josh Kerr. It was produced by Matt Alderman and Jim Ed Norman for Curb Productions, Inc. It will be released on October 14, via his record label, Sidewalk Records.
His baritone vocals are catchy, and slightly reminiscent of country star Dustin Lynch meets Tyler Hubbard from the hit country duo Florida Georgia Line. The lyrics are warm, fun and pleasant, with a radio-friendly vibe to them.
Scott posted a preview of his song on Facebook, and country fans and listeners can check out his new song on iTunes, by clicking here.
The Verdict
Dylan Scott's "Lay It On Me" is leaps and bounds better than his previous single "Mmm, Mmm, Mmm." Scott is such an underrated artist in the country genre and he deserves to be heard. It is one of his best singles to date, along with "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy." It garners 4 out of 5 stars.
