Modeled after Netflix and Sega Channel, EA Access will give gamers access to the to a massive collection of games for $5 a month or $30 a year. Users will have the choice to download from a selection of games that is updated each month.
Members will also receive discounts on the digital purchase of all EA games and digital content along with access to trials of new titles a week before they are publicly available.
EA Access is still in the beta stage which would mean the selection of games currently available will be limited. When the service launches, gamers can download FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2, and Battlefield 4 as more games will be added in the future.
Brier Dudley of The Seattle Times commented on the advantages EA Access could have on the industry when he stated, "Access is one of several ways that game companies are tinkering with the business models around console games to keep them competitive with lower-priced games on other platforms and with streaming game services that are attracting more of consumers’ time and dollars."

Paul Tassi of Forbes also noted several advantages the service would have for EA. He stated in his article, "It’s a huge incentive to play EA games period, either ones you wanted in the first place, or ones you might have avoided if you didn’t have the access for free."
EA Access is available now for Xbox One gamers only but it's speculated that the service could become available for PlayStation 4 gamers sometime in the future.
