Jacquie Lee from The Voice and singer-songwriter Christina Perri served as their opening acts. Tegan and Sara are signed to Warner Brothers Records.
They opened their set with the catchy "Goodbye, Goodbye," where they got the crowd on their feet, and it was followed by yet another upbeat tune "I Couldn't Be Your Friend."
Their stage was graced in bright lights as they took their fans down memory lane by singing "Back In Your Head" and continued with "I Was A Fool" and "Now I'm All Messed Up," both of which are tracks their latest studio album Heartthrob.
The duo of sisters revealed that they flew to New York from Ontario, and praised Eisenhower Park for its beauty, noting that they are not used to playing in such pretty venues. They also made a joke about flip flops on airplanes.
Other oldies but goodies were "Living Room" and "Call It Off." They conveyed their gratitude to Fresh 102.7 FM for playing their music throughout the show.
Tegan and Sara concluded their 10-song set with the melodically-stunning "Drove Me Wind," as well as their smash hit "Closer," the latter of which was the song that everybody in Long Island was waiting for, and they delivered.
The Verdict
Tegan and Sara's live show in East Meadow, New York was high-energy last night, and it was filled with infectious tunes. They are the modern-day version Cyndi Lauper of our generation, which ought to be taken as a major compliment. Their show garnered 4 out of 5 stars. Their music is highly recommended for fans of up-tempo songs with a pop and dance vibe.
