She has earned yet another sales award for her 42nd studio album. Her Blue Smoke – The Best Of CD, has been certified gold by the British Recorded Music Industry (BPI), and she holds strong on the UK album charts, sitting at No. 3. This is quite impressive since the album is in its sixth week of release.
Her manager, Danny Nozell, the CEO of CTK Management, remarked in a press release, "Dolly could not be any happier." Nozell added, "She has worked very hard over the past several years to create the momentum that we have going. Everyone at Dolly Records and Sony Music has done an outstanding job with making Dolly's new music available and the sales prove it."
The album includes such songs as "Home," the title track, as well as her latest collaboration with fellow Country Music Hall of Famer Kenny Rogers on "You Can't Make Old Friends." In the "Best Of" collection, some of her greatest hits are featured on disc 2, such as "Jolene," "Islands in the Stream," "9 to 5," "Little Sparrow," "Here You Come Again" and "I Will Always Love You," among many others.
Aside from the commercial success of Blue Smoke, her previous studio effort, Better Day, which was released in 2011, has been certified silver.
Most recently, Parton earned a special plaque for career sales of over 100 million albums.
