Investigators discovered 12 bodies inside a Weymouth, MA storage facility. The search came as authorities continue their investigation into Joseph V. O'Donnell, a former funeral director who is charged with stealing thousands from an elderly couple.
According to Boston, Dan Conley's, the Suffolk County District Attorney, office said that multiple sets of adults remains were found in the unit, and later on Thursday the number of bodies were updated. The new findings come just one day after finding cremated remains in a Somerville storage facility that was linked to O'Donnell.
According to CBS, officials do not suspect foul play in the deaths of the people, but they are concerned about why they were there in the first place.
According to Boston Globe, Conley said that their top priority right now is to determine the identities of the remains. He went on to say that they seized documents and records that could help them figure out who their families are.
A corporate spokesman for the storage facility declined to comment.
