Overcome your smartphone addiction with BreakFree app
Smartphones, being the latest technological toys to reach the human hand, can get addictive. It is not uncommon to see people on their smartphones for hours. However, addiction does no good, even if it is addiction to one’s own smartphone.
A new app called BreakFree
has been launched into the market to help people overcome their smartphone addiction.
Armed with BreakFree app, smartphone owners can establish a healthier relationship with their smartphones. This useful app
monitors the way smartphone owners use their apps and phones and even keeps track of the number of times they unlock their smartphones. For example, if a smartphone owner wants to spend quality time with spouse and kids, undisturbed, for a couple of hours, he or she can use the app to set the phone in silent mode during those hours.
Based on the number of times users unlock their phones, the time they spend on making and receiving phone calls, and how long they use their smartphone apps, BreakFree calculates “addiction scores” and continuously alerts users when their smartphone usage has gone too high.
Speaking about the app, Mrigaen Kapadia, its founder, said: “We want to make people realize that human company is better than phone company.” Accordingly, users can use the app to disable Internet and sound effects, reject phone calls, and send automatic responses to text messages. Parents can also use it to control the way their child uses his/her smartphone.
Although BreakFree can be downloaded
free of charge at Google Play Store, users must use the paid version, which costs $1.99, to get the most out of this app.
