Armin van Buuren's remix of the song "Let It Go" was officially released on April 22. Menzel's original version garnered the 2014 Academy Award for "Best Original Song." This remix is featured as the third track on Dconstructed album that came out on Walt Disney Records and it is one of the highlights on that project.
It is a neat remix consisting of trance instrumentals and it compliments Menzel's dynamic vocals (of the song's chorus) quite well.
Her vocals come in at the 48 second mark, as an echo, where Menzel is heard singing the well-known lyrics, "Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore. Let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door," prior to immediately breaking into the trance beats.
The Verdict
With his remix of Menzel's "Let It Go," Armin van Buuren truly puts his listeners in a "state of trance," to quote the title of his weekly radio show. I do not understand some of the mixed and negative reviews of the remix that are already out there, especially since the acclaimed Dutch DJ manages to introduces dance music to a younger generation of fans. It was a pleasant remix to listen to, which garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
