Jason Aldean reigned supreme, besting fellow nominees Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, both of whom co-hosted the award show, as well as Keith Urban and Lee Brice. This marked his second consecutive win in this major category. The award was presented to him by Carrie Underwood.
In his speech, Aldean shared that the award was "really unexpected" again this year. "It was a shock last year to win it and even a bigger shock this year," he stated.
Aldean went on to thank his long-time producer, Michael Knox, his record label (Broken Bow Records), country radio and country music fans, the latter of which he dubbed "as the best in the world." "Thank you guys so much for everything," he added. "It has been one hell of a ride so I hope it doesn't end anytime soon. Thank you so much."
