LeBron James scored 25 points in the first quarter, but it was two blocked shots in the final minutes that helped hold off his former team as the Miami Heat defeated the Cavaliers 100-96 in NBA action on Tuesday night.

James and the Heat have struggled recently, but the All Star forward put together perhaps his best game of the year with 14 of 19 made shots from the floor, including 6-8 from three point territory. Three blocked shots and two steals on the defensive end and more importantly no turnovers in his return to Cleveland.
Chris Bosh added 21 points and reserve shooting guard Ray Allen added 14 as the Heat improved to 46-19.
Cleveland was without young guard Kyrie Irving, but the team rallied around Jarrett Jack to keep the game close. Jack finished with 22 points, four rebounds, and four assists as the Cavs had six players score in double figures. The loss dropped Cleveland to 26-42, dropping the team six games behind Atlanta for the final spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs race.
With less than one month left in the 2013-14 NBA regular season, the Cavaliers will need to play their best basketball to reach the playoffs. Miami is still hoping for home court advantage, but trail Indiana by three games with timing running out on last years champions.
