Longineu Parsons III leaves Yellowcard

Posted Mar 13, 2014 by Kathleen Creighton
Yellowcard has announced that drummer Longineu Parsons III will be leaving the band. Parsons was one of two remaining original members.
According to Yellowcard's website “Longineu has decided to pursue other musical interests. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.” At this time the band has not released the name of his replacement.
Parsons joined the band when it was formed in 1997. However, this is not his first departure. He took a "hiatus" in 2007 to return home to Florida to spend time with his grandmother due to her failing health. What was supposed to be a few months turned into a few years during which he worked on a side project and then joined the backing band for American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert beginning with the promotional tour for his debut album and continuing on the international Glamnation Tour. LP returned to Yellowcard at the end of 2010.
Yellowcard celebrated the 10th Anniversary of their album Ocean Avenue by recording an acoustic version and then taking it on a tour that just wrapped. They are scheduled to be a part of this summer's Warped Tour and are currently working on the follow-up to their latest studio album Southern Air.
