Brooke Burke-Charvet took over the duties back in season 10 and she used Twitter to tell her fans the news. Burke-Chavet seemed shocked over the change, but she managed to handle the dismissal with grace.
The decision seems based on ABC trying to get younger viewers interested in DWTS. Andrews is 35 years of age and has plenty of experience in the sports industry, including working this past season with Fox Sports covering college football.
The move could help generate more interest in men, especially those who have followed the rising star since her days with ESPN as a sideline reporter, but the move will also grow her fan base, allowing Andrews to move into several new roles on TV.
ESPN's Mike Greenberg believes it's a great move for her and ABC as he let social media know his opinion of the new relationship being "Another perfect fit".
The show has lost some interest over the last few years, but sports personalities have done well in the past and drawn a good audience. This move by ABC makes good business sense and could be the start of a great relationship between the two.
