One team involved in several rumors over the last week is Philadelphia. The Flyers are in contention for a spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but the franchise needs a veteran on the back line for this squad to make some noise once the regular season ends.
Jeff Langridge of Sports Illustrated has reported the team has interest in veteran Shea Weber and even goes as far to suggest youngster Sam Morin is the player that could land the Flyers the 28 year-old.
Weber has 38 points for the Nashville Predators this season, but a -10 on the ice is the number that has fans and the front office showing concern. A deal to Philly could help peak the former second round picks interest, but dealing Morin is a big move and one that will have hockey experts talking.
Nashville is in the drivers seat if they want to make a trade and adding a 6'7" youngster with terrific skills on both ends of the ice is a good move, but with so many NHL clubs needing help on defense, look for the Predators to play this out and possibly get another team willing to pay a bit more to get involved and possibly driving the asking price upwards.
