It opens with the hilarious yet up-tempo “Chicken on a Chain” and he changes the pace with the captivating ballad “God’s Green Earth.”
“Baptized By Your Love” is yet another vivid and well-written ballad and equally moving is “This Ain’t Right.”
In the upbeat “Wrecking My World,” his vocals are soothing and reminiscent to those of country mega-star Keith Urban.
“Somebody’s Arms” has a vibe that is similar to that of Billy Currington’s “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” meanwhile “Trailer Park Paradise” has a rock edge to it.
His female fans are certain to go crazy over “Touch Your Body” and many retail workers can relate to “Checkout Boy.”
It closes with the tender, piano-driven ballad “The Day We Fell in Love,” which showcases his rich, baritone vocals, where the listener can easily recall such male artists as Gary Allan and Joe Nichols.
The Verdict
Overall, country singer M Callahan does a solid job on his 10-track debut studio album. It was a pleasant listen and he co-wrote these songs from the heart. He is an underrated musician and one of Nashville’s best-kept secrets and with this release the secret is out. His CD garners an A- rating.
