Baltimore continued where they left off last season as the Ravens won their NFL preseason opener 44-16 over the Buccaneers, in a game played in Tampa Bay.

The Ravens defense has been a big question with the loss of several starters off of last years Super Bowl Championship squad, but they forced four turnovers on the night and held the Bucs to just 273 yards of offense.
Joe Flacco started at quarterback and completed 7-9 passes for 59 yards and an interception. Backup Tyrod Taylor had a big game as he went 13-23 for 154 yards and two touchdown passes, but he also helped the team with his feet as he rushed for another 27 yards and showed good mobility in the pocket.
Sixteen different Ravens had at least one reception on the night, but the defense was the big story as they also had two sacks and plenty of hurries to go along with those turnovers.
Baltimore will play its second preseason game at home against Atlanta next Thursday, while Tampa Bay will look for a better performance on the road next Friday night against the New England Patriots.
