According to an unknown senior source for cable news, it seems like actor Alec Baldwin (55) is set to host a new weekly show for MSNBC.

MSNBC has stayed very quiet about Baldwin's new show, the senior source has already said it's a "done deal" and apparently already has a spot at 10pm ET on Fridays during MSNBC's Primetime lineup, only replacing a Lockup marathon.
This deal doesn't come with much surprise, since Baldwin has hosted Saturday Night Live more times than anybody in SNL's history (16 times). And famously, Baldwin starred in the NBC themed show 30 Rock for 7 years.
Back in 2012, Baldwin actually tried his hand at being an anchor on MSNBC very briefly, reading teasers for The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, which is currently the 10pm show on MSNBC on Monday-Thursday. Just after he made his anchoring debut, the L.A. Times eerily predicted "Perhaps with the end of "30 Rock" looming, Baldwin is trying out other careers."
So will Baldwin's left-leaning political viewpoints work well on the network or should he just stick to acting? Make your choice by watching Baldwin's appearance on The Last Word here.
