According to the Daily Mail, Whishaw – who has always been discreet about his private life – married his partner, Bradshaw, in a civil-partnership ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in 2012.
Apparently, the couple met while on the set of Bright Star, the 2009 film directed by Jane Campion (Top of the Lake).
Whishaw's agent told the Daily Mail, "Ben has never hidden his sexuality but, like many actors, he prefers not to discuss his family or life outside of his work. Due to speculation [however], I can confirm that Ben and Mark entered into a civil partnership in August 2012. They were proud to do so and are very happy."
In November 2011, Whishaw was cast as Q in the James Bond films, making him the youngest-ever actor to take on that role. He is also 12 years younger that the current 007, Daniel Craig. Whishaw's first Bond movie, Skyfall, was released in 2012.
Whishaw was also a favourite to become the Twelfth Doctor in he BBC's iconic sci-fi-series, Doctor Who. However, in June, the 32-year-old ruled himself out of the running. This evening, Peter Capaldi was revealed to have won the part, live on TV.
