Around 1,000 people marched in Maui and Oahu, Hawaii alike on Saturday against the seed giant, Monsanto and GMOs, with banners reading "Seeds of Peace are GMO free" and other strong messages.

According to Brian Lehmann of Occupy Monsanto Maui, the march started at the War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, and approximately 1,000 people then proceeded along W Kaahumanu Avenue all the way to Hoaloha Park in Kahului.
Signs and banners protested against Monsanto and GMOs, with Maui being one of the major test areas for genetically modified seeds.

On arrival at the Hoaloha Park in Kahului, an after-party was enjoyed, featuring free food, music, and a speech by Maui County councilwoman Elle Cochran, who spearheaded Maui's GMO labeling efforts at the local level.
