Love/Hate – in which Scott has played Tommy since the beginning of season 1, in 2010 – completes filming season 4 this week. After a short break, the 27-year-old actor will then join fellow Love/Hate star Peter Coonan for three and a half weeks filming of Get Up and Go this June/July.
Get Up and Go is a co-production between Ireland’s Fastnet Films and Wales’s Fragrant Films. The movie will be directed by Tonight is Cancelled’s Brendan Grant. Gemma Leah Deveraux (Stitches) and Sara Lloyd Gregory (Hinterland) also star. It is being funded by the Irish Film Board, Film Agency Wales, Wildcard Distribution and Section 481.
According to IFTN, the comedy-drama tells the story of “a close-knit group of twenty-something friends as they are forced to confront the reality of lives and friendships which have gone unchallenged and unchanged since their teenage years”.
Killian Scott’s previous film, the Northern Irish punk film Good Vibrations, is currently showing in Irish cinemas. Further projects this year for the Sandymount-born actor include Black Ice and 71. Prior to his success in Love/Hate, he appeared as Cody Farraher – alongside Iain Glen, the eponymous star of the Galway-set gumshoe dramas Jack Taylora part he returned to for two brand-new episodes in 2011.
