Officials at Cisco announced the deal a day ago, and they said that they will be paying $310 million in cash and employee-retention incentives for Ubiquisys, based in Britain, according to eWeek.
According to BusinessWeek, the deal is expected to close sometime in the fourth quarter of Cisco's 2013 fiscal year. The employees at Ubiquisys will end up joining Cisco's service provider mobility business.
According to WebProNews, Kelly Ahuja, SVP and GM of Cisco Mobility Business Group, said that Cisco is doubling down on its small cell business in order to gain strong momentum and growth in the mobilty market.
Cisco has recently announced other acquisitions, which include Intucel, BroadHop, Cognitive Security and SolveDirect.
