Interview: Daniel Kelly talks about his hip-hop career Special

On March 2, 2013, hip hop recording artist Daniel Kelly (better known by his stage name Deph Naught) spoke to Digital Journal at a press event that was held in New York City’s Gramercy Theatre.

Daniel spoke about being a part of the “Pop Explosion Tour,” where he was one of the musical acts that opened for pop boy band Midnight Red. “This is incredible. It’s my first time performing in Manhattan. I cannot wait. The excitement is killing me,” he said.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Daniel noted that he was influenced musically by Eminem from a young age. “The first song of his I heard was ‘My Name Is’ and I have been hooked ever since,” he said. “Eminem is definitely my favorite.”
On his plans for the future, Daniel revealed that he hopes to do a lot more touring and to release new music. “I have a new mix tape coming out called ‘Naught Again.’ I had a previous one that came out last March called ‘Ready or Naught’ and this one is going to be a step up from that. It’s going to be really exciting,” he acknowledged.
Daniel listed Pink as the female artist that he would love to someday work with the most. “I love Pink,” he said and further added that he loves British pop songstress Jessie J as well. “I love Jessie J too. She has a really wicked attitude,” he concluded.
Aside from his musical endeavors, Daniel is also an actor that starred in the hit drama TV series Degrassi.
In addition, according to a press release, Daniel's management, Can Public Relations CPR, revealed the hip hop artist will be releasing a limited edition apparel line in the fall of 2013 for the fans.
