Saturday Night Live channeled Quentin Tarantino in a gory and uproarious skit starring Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz as a revenge-seeking resurrected Jesus Christ.

In SNL's mock trailer for a fictional film titled 'Djesus Uncrossed,' Jesus (Waltz) rises from the dead to seek vengeance on his oppressors.
"He's risen from the dead," deadpans the trailer's voice-over narrator, "and he's preaching anything but forgiveness." A sword-wielding, cross-bearing Jesus then proceeds to dispatch a horde of Roman soldiers in a blue-lit silhouette scene à la "Kill Bill Vol.1."
"He may be wearing sandals, but he can still kick ass," the narrator quips as a terrified Roman commander exclaims "Jesus H. Christ!"
"The 'H' is silent," the Son of God retorts before burying his sword in the centurion's head, splitting it down the middle.
SNL actors portraying Brad Pitt, Ving Rhames and Samuel L. Jackson appear in the trailer as characters from past Tarantino films, including "Inglorious Basterds," "Pulp Fiction" and "Django Unchained."
"Critics are calling it a less violent 'Passion of the Christ,'" the voice-over says.
Real-life critics are calling the trailer offensive and blasphemous. One Twitter user called it "the most offensive skit" SNL has ever done.
"Interesting how SNL continues to mock Christ," one commenter wrote on SNL's website. "As a Christian, I was highly offended. No doubt you would not dare to attack other faiths; Islam, Judaism, Hinduism. You can do better."
Indeed, in December 2011, SNL parodied then-Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, a devout Christian, over what some see as his zealous faith. Tebow is in the headlines again after announcing he would speak at a Dallas megachurch run by an anti-gay, anti-Semitic pastor.
