14-year-old shot at Atlanta middle school

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the head Thursday at a Georgia middle school. He is alive and at hospital. A suspect has been taken into custody.
Students at Price Middle School in Atlanta were on lock down after a student was shot today. The young victim is being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was said to be alert and conscious. A teacher was also wounded but has not been taken to hospital according to Wave
The young victim was shot outside of the school's building just before 2:00 p.m.
A suspect has been taken into custody. It has been confirmed by Stephen Alford, of the Atlanta Public School system, that the suspect was another student at the school.
Students are being taken to to Emanuel Baptist Church located at 1582 Benjamin Weldon Bickers Drive where their parents can pick them up.
Fox Memphis quotes Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed:
"Gun violence in and around our schools is simply unconscionable and must end. Too many young people are being harmed, and too many families are suffering from unimaginable and unnecessary grief," Reed said.
Price Middle School has 569 students in grades six through eight. The school is located in the 1600 block of Benjamin Weldon Bickers Drive.
