According to several media reports, a 43-year-old woman was so angry that a 7-Up soda machine swallowed her money, she kicked the machine, then lit a newspaper on fire, stuffed it inside the vending machine and walked away.
WCTI News 12 reported the entire episode, which took place at a Piggly Wiggly grocery store, and was captured on surveillance video.
The incident occurred on Sat., Oct. 13.
She's not denying she set the fire. The suspect reportedly waived the right to an attorney and refused to pay the $10,000 bond.
"I'll represent myself, 'cause I'm guilty," the woman said, according to KLTV-TV (via Huffington Post). "I don't need a lawyer to lie for me, cause I'mma (sic) tell you I done it."
Debra Johnson, of New Bern, N.C., was arrested yesterday and faces two felony charges.
She is scheduled to appear back in court next week.
