Laurence Pieau, editor-in-chief of 'Closer' magazine said in an interview that she has in her possession sex photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, "but she has not decided to run them yet."
In an interview posted on TMZ, Pieau revealed that she "... will not hide the fact that there are more intimate pictures that exist that we haven't published and will not publish. These images are full of joy, not degrading."
Closer published pictures showing Kate Middleton topless while sunbathing in France on Friday. The photos, splashed on the front cover and on five inside pages, showed Middleton just wearing her bottom bikini while sitting on the side of a swimming pool. Some of the shots show the Duchess taking her bikini top off, while another has Prince William applying sunscreen on Kate's backside. The photos were taken while the couple were staying at Lord Linley's French Chateau.
British magazines were offered the pictures for publication but declined. Closer magazine faces legal action under strict French privacy laws after British lawmakers led by Steve Field, spokesperson for Prime Minister David Cameron said that "... the royal couple were entitled to their privacy."
A spokesperson for St. James Palace described the incident to BBC being "...reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so."
Closer editor Pieau didn't specifically described the sex photos of the Royal couple that she says she possesses. She issued the statement to defend her decision on publishing the pictures thus far in circulation. She told The Associated Press, as posted on NYDaily News, “For me, those pictures were not shocking,” she said. “Just a beautiful couple, an in-love couple, in the south of France.”
The Royal couple recently visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of a ten-day tour in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific to commemorate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The Duchess of Cambridge looked unfazed as she delivers her first speech in foreign soil, praising the work of hospice movement in Malaysia.
