Rumors swirled that the 36 year old was contemplating retirement after losing to the Miami Heat in a crushing seven game series. Garnett, known as the "Big Ticket" was playing at a high level last season averaging 15.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Garnett has played with the Celtics for five seasons, during that tenure he won a championship in 2008. It appeared as if the Celtics were too old to contend in this years playoffs, however the play of Garnett and Rondo carried the team all the way to a 7th game against the Champion Miami Heat with a chance to reach the finals.
Boston's Ray Allen is also a free agent, however he does appear to be interested in re-signing with the Celtics.
