Deli does not live up to expectations, quick, dial 911
Ordering a sandwich is a nice treat, but what happens if that sandwich does not live up to your expectations? Would you consider dialing emergency services? This is what one man decided to do.
The Metro reports
, Rother McLennon from Connecticut, US made a phone call to 911 to complain about his sandwich. He told the operator that he only asked for a small amount of turkey, a little ham, lots of cheese and mayonnaise. He complained that the sandwich company (Grateful Deli) was giving him a hard time.
The dispatcher asked:
'You're calling 911 because you don't like the way that they're making your sandwich.'
McLennon agreed and the operator told him not to buy the sandwich. McLennon called directly from the Grateful Deli in East Hartford, complaining about this specific sarnie and also future ones that he was worried would not be good enough.
McLennon explained that he wanted to sort things out the right way and felt that the company were playing games with him. He also asked the operator if he would pop by. Again, the operator told him not to pay for the sarnie. McLennon then replied,
'I'll look at it before I buy it'.
Tila Azinheira, the owner of the deli, said that McLennon had ordered fourteen sandwiches over the phone, but then refused to pay when he saw them. Azinheira told McLennon that he could not take the sandwiches back. This is when McLennon decided to take things into his own hands and dialed 911.
McLennon has apologized to the deli and told them he will come back for more sandwiches.
