Model Evangelista puts child's bills at $46,000 a month
Supermodel Linda Evangelista and her former boyfriend, Francois-Henri Pinault, went to Manhattan Family Court on Thursday to face off.
Evangelista wants a court to force Pinault, a French business tycoon married to Salma Hayek , to help with child-rearing expenses which she estimated to be almost $50,000 a month. This includes money she pays for armed bodyguards as well as a nanny who works around the clock and other things.
According to CBS
, the first day of testimony included a widge range of things, such as a description of a brief breakup between Pinault and Selma Hayek before they tied the knot in 2009. A $12 million mansion was also discussed.
According to Fox
, Pinault says that he has offered to pay child support to Evangelista in the past. However, David Aronson, Pinault's lawyer, said that the possibility of Pinault paying almost $50,000 a month in child support is ridiculous.
Arson said that many expenses Evangelista mentioned does not even relate to child care. Instead, Arson said that they relate to her own expenses.
According to ABC
, Pinault said that when he makes an offer and there is no answer to the offer, then that is taken as a no.
A judge is expected to make a ruling in the near future. The couple will be able to accept the ruling or ask to be reconsidered.
Pinault is the chief executive of PPR, his family’s company that owns such luxury brands as Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Heir to the $11.5 billion empire, Pinault brings in $4 million to $5 million annually.
