Man who murdered Jeffrey Dahmer seeking tell-all book deal

"God told me to do it," Christopher J. Scarver, 25, was quoted by a prison guard as saying shortly after the Nov. 28 1994 murder. "You will hear about it on the 6 o'clock news," according to the Chicago Tribune. The Independent reported that Scarver said he believed he was the son of God because his name was Chris, the name of the woman who raised him was Mary and he worked as a carpenter. Now, Scarver, 42, who's currently serving multiple life sentences for multiple murders, has more to explain behind why he bludgeoned Dahmer to death with a broomstick, according to TMZ. The TMZ report, citing anonymous sources, claims the Scarver book "plans to reveal the 'sick, sadistic mind games and practical jokes' Dahmer played on prison officials and other prisoners during his time" at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin,where he was serving 15 consecutive life terms. Dahmer, the Milwaukee man who admitted killing and dismembering 17 men and boys, was found beaten to death in a locker room he had been cleaning just off a prison gymnasium. Scarver, who was taller than Dahmer, was quoted as telling investigators he did not plan the acts or discuss them with anyone else, the Chicago Tribune reported. He said he attacked the 34-year-old because "the spirit" came upon him "right there." Investigators at the prison said Scarver told them that, in killing Dahmer and Anderson, he "was simply submitting to the will of God and that he was simply a tool used by the spirit," they wrote. According to the New York Times, Scarver said the voices -- a family, including a woman, a man, a little girl and a boy -- had told him "everything was going to be all right and it was meant to happen like this."
