Ryan Seacrest signs $30m deal to continue hosting 'American Idol'

Top TV show host Ryan Seacrest has signed a two-year contract to continue hosting at least two seasons of the popular television show 'American Idol' for a reported $30 million deal.

Seacrest's confirmation of the deal has ended speculations he is moving on to another show after weeks of talks with Fox Entertainment.
Seacrest said he's been privileged to be part of the show. 'It’s been a wild ride, and I'm excited for my journey with American Idol.
Fox's Mike Darnell said, 'Ryan is one of a kind. His ability to engage the viewers, keep the contestants at ease during intense moments and adapt to any situation, especially during the live shows, solidifies him as the absolute best in the business."
Show creator Simon Fuller of Fox Entertainment noted that Seacrest had been with the program "from the very first day." and said "I can't imagine the show without him."
Seacrest, who served as host of popular radio shows, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, American Top 40 and equally popular television shows including American Idol, started a hosting career early in life.
While in high school Secreast, who hails from Georgia, was already hosting a popular radio show after winning a hard-to-get internship at WSTR FM where he worked until graduation from high school in 1992.
After graduation, Secrest took up journalism at the University of Georgia but later moved to Los Angeles where he continued his studies at Santa Monica College. It was in Los Angeles where he landed a job as radio host at Star 98.7 with starting pay of $15.00/hour. His radio show Ryan Seacrest for the Ride Home became No.1 and marked his rise to popularity both in radio and television.
