The Other Human is a mobile social kitchen that travels around Athens cooking lunches in different parts of the city daily.
The inspiration for the group came when they began seeing people of various ages, nationalities, and social backgrounds rummaging through the garbage for food that was out of their price range.
The group first began by cooking their own food at home and then distributing it in public market squares. Then they began asking each vendor at the market to voluntarily give one item so that they could continue the next day.

Later they decided to cook on site so that everybody (cooks and diners) could eat together thereby eliminating any shame or embarrassment that might otherwise be an issue.

In their own words: "The Other Human is an action of solidarity and a manifestation of love towards our fellow man, with the hope of awakening consciousness and to inspire other similar actions from others and from groups." They also emphasize that these actions are not philanthropic or charitable.
