The film is directed by Bollywood cinematographer, Manmohan Singh.
Sandeep told the India Times that the main lead in the film, Gurpreet Guggi is a good friend and that he could not turn down his request.
Sandeep plays himself in a small role in the film, and says he truly enjoyed the experience. When asked if he wanted to pursue a career in Bollywood, he said "Hockey is my first love, and I devote most of my time to hockey only. But if I get time, I won't mind working in films too."
Sandeep was the highest goal scorer at this year's hockey Olympic game qualifiers, scoring 16, and securing the Indian national hockey team a spot in the Olympics. India failed to qualify for the Olympics in 2008. Sandeep pulled all out the stops, and revealed he had pulled a few tricks out of his sleeve to ensure his team wouldn't suffer the same fate they did four years ago. He is confident, focused, and ready for London.
Sandeep Singh is not the only Indian hockey player to try his hand at acting. In the summer of 2011, former hockey captain, Dilip Tirkey announced his plans to appear in an Oriya film.
