Police were called to an Atlanta home to find a mother stabbing her 4-year old to death.
Neighbors say a boy, 8, was thrown out of the back window by the mother. The boy and his uncle ran to get help from a neighbor.
The boy told the neighbor his mother was “acting up” and going to kill him.
When police arrived, the woman was sitting in a chair stabbing the 4-year-old little girl.
Another neighbor says the woman had no utilities, water, gas or food and was “struggling with her kids”.
The owner of the home said she recognized the woman had difficulties so she allowed the woman to stay rent free.
“Because of the kids I just couldn’t put her out”. She also shared that the 4-year-old was a disabled child. According to a CBS news report, the toddler had autism.
Police asked the woman, Carulus Hines, 40, to drop the knife.
When she refused, police shot and killed the mother. WSAV, Atlanta reports the woman tried to attack police officers.
CBS Atlanta confirms the 4-year-old died from asphyxiation and stab wounds; not police fire. The officers are on administrative leave, pending a full investigation. The 8-year-old boy was treated for minor injuries.
