Semi-clad Rihanna ordered to cover up by farmer in his field
A farmer who allowed pop star Rihanna to use his barley field to record a pop video has told the Rude Boy star to cover up after she strolled through the wheat field exposing her bra and some of her underwear.
Christian farmer Alan Graham, 61, was fetching his tractor when he noticed the Barbadian pop star singing and walking through the field with her shirt fully unbuttoned and her low-hanging jeans exposing her red bikini bottoms. Rihanna was recording a video for We Found Love
with Scottish producer Calvin Harris in a barley field near Bangor, Northern Ireland.
Filming was also taking place close to a main road and many schoolchildren had asked their parents to pull over so they could film the events from the roadside on their mobile phones. But when Mr Graham looked over he approached the film crew demanding the Umbrella singer do the decent thing and cover up, reports BBC Northern Ireland
Graham, who is a member of a local political party and father-of-four said:
She understood where I was coming from. We shook hands and parted company on good terms
Earlier the farmer had assisted the production team in getting some of their heavy equipment moved into the adjacent fields using his tractor. He also admitted having no idea who Rihanna was, reports the Telegraph UK
I didn't know who was coming. If the name 'Rihanna' had been mentioned, well, no disrespect but it wouldn't have meant anything. I knew on Monday who she was. Someone explained she was as big as it gets as far as pop stars were concerned. I am a bit illiterate about those issues.
Traffic on the A2 dual carriageway came to a virtual standstill as onlookers clambered to get a view of the pop star. Mr Graham also added he had shook hands with Rihanna and she had duly covered up as requested.
is currently in Belfast performing a number of sell-out shows. Just hours before the video shoot Rihanna had tweeted
Im shootin a video. It's 3.36am! , I gotta be up in like 4 hours :(
It's not known if her poor night's sleep was behind her failure to dress properly.
