Maria Shriver, Governor Schwarzeneggar's wife and first lady of California, speaks eloquently about her father's suffering of Alzheimer's disease, something that she relates is a baby boomer epidemic and national crisis.
"A statement from Schwarzenegger's office said the former "Terminator" star has asked his talent agency to put all his motion picture projects that are currently under way or being negotiated on hold until further notice." reports
"Gov. Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines," the statement said. "This includes `Cry Macho,' the `Terminator' franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Gov. Schwarzenegger decides."
The former Governor and his wife Maria Shriver recently separated after Schwarzenegger admitted to having a relationship with the household staff member who served for him for more than 20 years. He said he apologized to his family for the secret love affair.
The couple did not say they were planning a divorce after announcing their temporary separation a week after the extra-marital affair was disclosed.
Breaking her silence on the on the issue, Shriver spoke about her concern for children's welfare and privacy as they go through the healing process.
"This is a painful and heartbreaking time," said Shriver, 55. "As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
Shriver did no say if a divorce option is being looked into but the former California First Lady has reportedly retained Laura Wasser, a popular Los Angeles divorce lawyer whose clients include Britney Spears and Christina Aquilera.
