UK woman caught on video dumping kitten in garbage bin

Shocking CCTV footage has been released of a middle-aged woman in the UK petting the friendly kitten before picking it up and dumping it in the owner's garbage bin.
Daryll and Stephanie Mann, owners of Lola the kitten, heard her crying from inside the garbage bin at their Coventry, England home.
After playing back footage from their security camera, they were shocked to see the deed was done by a mature, grey-haired woman.
Mr Mann told Sky News: "I was shocked how someone could do something like that to an animal. I know some people don't like cats, but you wouldn't expect them to do that to an animal that can't defend itself."
He went on to say: "I'm surprised at it being a lady. I expected it was someone drunk coming back from the pub, but when I saw that, it's mad."
The video shows the cat leaping up onto the wall surrounding the Mann's front yard to go to the grey-haired woman for some petting. The woman looks around to see if anyone is watching her before she lifts the bin lid and grabs Lola by the scruff of her neck and dumps her into the garbage. She then walks nonchalantly away.
Lola was stuck in the garbage for 16 hours, from Saturday evening until the Mann's went out to lunch on Sunday afternoon and heard her crying.
A spokesman for the RSPCA said: "We are appalled by allegations that a cat was placed inside a wheelie bin in Coventry in what would appear to be a mindless act of animal cruelty.
"Investigations are on-going in liaison with the police.
"Anyone who witnessed anything or who recognises the person responsible is urged to call the RSPCA national cruelty and advice line on 0300 1234 999, leaving a message for inspector Nicky Foster."
Web user Robert Fletcher commented when the YouTube video was first posted: "The cat was okay, found shortly afterwards, but there's a mass hunt to find out who the old lady is...There's obviously a massive outcry and hunt on to find the lady who did it."
