Canada: NDP's Bill 311 passes third reading in Parliament

The Climate Change Accountability Act ensures that Canada will achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets and is one step closer to becoming law.

Bill 311 requires that the Canadian federal government will set regulations to attain a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 25% below 1990 levels by 2020 and to lower emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. HousePublications
These are the greenhouse gas reduction targets announced as goals By President Obama's New Energy For America strategy,and are the same goals which were recently adapted by The European Union.
