,Ontario Recreation Resort Set For Expansion

A historic Southwestern Ontario resort is gearing up to take on Blue Mountain in hopes of becoming the premiere outdoor recreation destination in Ontario.

Exciting things are happening to this Beaver Valley Resort, Talisman Village Resort tucked away in one of the most picturesque corners of Ontario, less than 2 hours from Toronto. The 93-room resort has a long history with Ontarians going back to its origins in 1963, where it quickly established itself with many Southwestern Ontario families into the fabric of a fun and relaxing four season getaway with generous amounts of snow in the winter and a lovely climate in the summer for golf, tennis, hiking and biking.
The current resort sits on over 412 acres of Prime Niagara Escarpment land in what is designated as a world Biosphere Project with its abundance of natural wonders, sparkling clean water and impressive mountains that boast the second highest vertical in Ontario.
Capitalizing on the area’s outstanding beauty, while respecting the natural environment, the owners have finalized and received approval for a very ambitious four season 300 unit development plan, over the last few years. Unlike most development projects, this one has municipal servicing from the town of Kimberley and plenty of water from 2 large aquifers originating from the Escarpment.
The development envisions single family homes tucked into the hillside; townhomes and stacked townhomes that are ski in and ski out; cluster townhouses grouped around the existing resort with a golf course; plus both hotel and residential condominiums.
Talisman Village will have a full range of resort housing from hotel condo suites to smaller pied-a-terre condos of between 700 - 1,200 sq ft and up to larger single family homes plus estate lots on top of the escarpment. The demand for these units is expected to be very strong especially when the full range of amenities is factored in with golf, skiing, skating, canoeing/ kayaking in the Beaver River nearby, hiking and mountain biking on the Bruce Trail which abuts the property. Also, Beaver Valley Ski club is situated next door and Talisman has many enquiries as Beaver Valley does not have serviced development land available or the municipal services that Talisman enjoys. Further Development beyond the 300 units is envisioned as the entire resort has a potential for up to 1,900 units which would make Talisman Village a veritable competitor to Blue Mountain Village.

It is difficult to find a resort home in Collingwood under $500,000 which puts it beyond most families reach. Talisman will become a welcome Collingwood alternative.”
