Op-Ed: Flight 253 and The Systematic Cover-Up of Fabricated Terrorism

Posted Jan 17, 2010 by Bill Lindner
The systematic cover-up of the failed Flight 253 'Underwear Bomber' plot has become glaringly obvious as mounting evidence makes it appear that the 'terrorist' attack was yet another false flag attack that failed
In what is appearing to be yet another fabricated 'terrorist' attack designed to keep the American public in an endless state of fear and justify draconian actions of the Federal government, the evidence of a systematic cover-up of the Flight 253 'Underwear bomber' plot is becoming glaringly obvious as evidence of U.S. complicity in and manufacturing of terrorism continues to mount.
Since the Bush administration's complicity in the attacks of 9/11, as noted by ICH, the FBI has been busy enticing people -- oftentimes people that aren't too bright -- who lack organizational skills, into 'terrorist plots' consisting of FBI initiated hot air talk, fabricating evidence to take these 'terrorists' to trial and having corporate media fan the flames of fear of 'home-grown terrorist plots" against Americans. In keeping with the tradition of fanning the fear, corporately owned media entities like FOX news and the Washington Post -- and numerous others -- continue doing their best to keep the public terrified and oblivious to the truth.
The quasi police state apparatus put in place after the attacks of 9/11 to 'prevent terrorist attacks and keep Americans safe' should have stopped the Underwear bomber and prevented him from even boarding a plane coming to the U.S. but it didn't. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the terrorist who allegedly tried to 'blow up a plane' had help bypassing screening and boarding the plane from someone in the Government with the authority to do so helps make the debacle appear staged.
An Israeli security firm -- the same firm that allowed alleged 9/11 hijackers through security onto the planes -- was responsible for allowing Abdulmutallab to board the plane unsecured, yet there is no mention of that fact in the corporate media. Eyewitness accounts don't bode well for President Obama's 'failure to connect the dots' story either.
The 'failure to connect the dots' theory being touted by President Obama, aided and abetted once again by a complicit media, is nothing more than a feeble attempt by President Obama to hide the obvious truth. What his feeble theory does is enable Washington to continue the tradition of making sure that no one is held accountable for committing acts of treason against the U.S.
The Systematic Collusion to Cover-Up Evidence is Becoming More Evident
British intelligence claims it began collecting information on Abdulmutallab after his arrival in the UK in 2005 when officials claimed he was in contact with known radicals. The information they collected was shared with U.S. authorities before the alleged terrorist attack happened. None of the information that was held or shared by British intelligence indicated that Abdulmutallab was going to attempt a terrorist attack against the U.S.
After claiming the information was shared with U.S. authorities, British intelligence now mendaciously claims that it did not share that intelligence with U.S. authorities 'because of concerns about breaching his human rights and privacy.' Since when has any intelligence agency -- U.S. or British -- been concerned about human rights and privacy? Definitely not since the Bush cabal complicity allowed the events of 9/11 to happen and be covered up so quickly. Of course, as the story from both U.S. and British intelligence changes, the systematic collusion to cover-up the evidence becomes more evident. By quietly announcing the appointment of John McLaughlin, former deputy CIA director, to head the 'internal investigation' of the 'intelligence failures' that led to the Christmas Day attempted bombing, President Obama has assured that the culture of cover-up will continue.
An excellent breakdown of the evidence is available in this article from The Centre for Research on Globalization, but a few of the highlights are below.
In May of last year, the British government withdrew Abdulmutallab's student visa and placed him on a watch list, barring his entry into the UK -- information that was shared with the U.S. In August of last year, the CIA and the NSA intercepted cell- and satellite phone traffic revealing that a Yemeni affiliate of the CIA's al-Qaeda were finalizing preparations for an operation that would utilize a 'Nigerian.'
In October, American-born dodgy cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who communicated extensively with Ft. Hood shooter Major Malik Nadal Hasan, posted a message online hinting that an upcoming attack would make Yemen 'the single most important front of jihad in the world.' Al-Awlaki had extensive contacts with alleged 9/11 hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi, Khalid Almihdhar and Hani Hanjour. Al-Awlaki has well-documented links with 9/11 hijackers and American, Saudi and Pakistani secret state agencies.
In early November of last year, two U.S. Intelligence agencies and the Department of Homeland Security circulated a paper within the government that examined in some detail the threats that bombs secreted in clothing -- or inside someone's body cavities -- might pose to aviation security.' That report was prepared by the National Counter-terrorism Center in conjunction with Homeland Security and the CIA. One principal point of discussion in the report was whether the detonation of a bomb hidden in clothing on an airliner would have a different explosive effect than the detonation of a bomb secreted in a body cavity under similar circumstances. The distribution and timing of that report raises a lot of questions.
The CIA Prepared and Filed a Report on Abdulmutallab last November
Abdulmutallab's father, a prominent Nigerian banker -- a CIA and Mossad asset -- and former high state official told State Department and CIA officials he believed his son was a threat in November of last year. No one bothered to take him seriously. Also in November of last year, the CIA prepared and filed a report on Abdulmutallab that was sent to their headquarters in Langley, Virginia, but not disseminated to any other intelligence agencies. The CIA and Mossad have worked hand-in-hand for years in numerous countries, including Yemen and the U.S.
In December of last year, Abdulmutallab traveled to Ghana from Ethiopia and paid cash -- $2.831 to be precise -- for a ticket on a Northwest Airlines flight from Lagos through Amsterdam to Detroit, landing on Christmas day. Despite the fact that FBI officials in Ghana believed Abdulmutallab may have had his final al-Qaeda briefing and had been supplied with equipment and explosives, there were no steps taken to apprehend him. A December 22, 2009 White House Situation Room briefing presented to President Obama entitled 'Key Homeland Threats' did not mention Yemen.
When Abdulmutallab boarded Flight 253 in Amsterdam, he only had a carry-on bag for his international flight. Because he had a 2-year entry visa -- which he wasn't carrying -- into the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security was notified an hour prior to departure that he was a passenger on the plane yet the flight crew was not notified of Abdulmutallab's presence on board so additional security precautions were not taken.
Two weeks after the failed 'terrorist plot,' after the White House's preliminary review of alleged 'intelligence failures,' President Obama said 'America's first line of defense is timely, accurate intelligence that is shared, integrated, analyzed, and acted upon quickly and effectively' -- unless of course, there is an ulterior motive or alternative agenda by intelligence agencies to further the quasi police state that is already in place. It took them a while to figure out how to try and cover-up the ridiculous airplane bomb plot story.
In a maneuver aimed at deflecting public attention from the glaring similarities between the 9/11 provocation and the Christmas Day 'terrorist plot,' Obama claimed that 'intelligence reforms' instituted under the Bush administration 'largely achieved' the goal of generating 'timely intelligence.' Aside from the fact that secret state agencies and the Pentagon data mining program had illegally amassed terabytes of data on the alleged 9/11 hijack team, complete with detailed profiles and dossiers, and that Bush was warned repeatedly that an attack was imminent, the failure to 'connect the dots' story is a crock of crap.
Yemen is Part of the Oil Rich Middle East
The preliminary review of the 'intelligence failures' released by the White House presents an even more damning indictment of the alleged 'intelligence failures.' The declassified version of the report notes that the U.S. Government had sufficient information prior to the attempted December 25 attack to have potentially disrupted the plot. The report also charges that the intelligence community leadership did not increase analytic resources working on the threat.
As with 9/11, a similar pattern of concealing information from relevant counter-terrorism officials who could have intervened and prevented the 'terrorist' attack were replicated. The CIA's Nigerian station had prepared a dossier on Abdulmutallab that included biographical details and texts handed over by the family, an analysis of NSA electronic intercepts and reports from their own on-the-ground operatives in Yemen that were sent to their Langley headquarters 'but not disseminated to other intelligence agencies.'
Of course, the CIA now says it's taking steps to 'improve' its handling of 'terrorist-threat' information, but the CIA has repeatedly proved to have a dubious reputation for doing whatever is necessary to further their own illicit agenda. The CIA has been more concerned with protecting their own assets -- a motley crew of killers and sociopaths, including members of the Bush administration, mafia kingpins, drug traffickers and terrorists they train and fund -- from scrutiny by law enforcement officials. This has been going on for years and years. There appear to be extreme right-wing elements deeply embedded in the U.S. National Security State with their own alternative agenda.
It's impossible to believe that U.S. intelligence agencies failed to 'connect the dots' as President Obama suggests and Mr. Obama needs to quit trying to cover-up the truth. It only ends up making him look bad. The CIA and the NCTC had all the information necessary to identify and stop the alleged 'underwear bomber' yet failed to do so. The NCTC was created to fuse and 'connect' all the dots that flow into and out of the U.S. security apparatus. As egregiously -- and illegally -- as the government has been spying on U.S. and world citizens, it would be impossible not to connect the dots.
As noted by The Centre for Research on Globalization, one thing is certain: the Obama administration, the security agencies, presumably under its control and the corporate media are intentionally lying to the American people. Yemen is part of the oil rich Middle East that the U.S. has been trying to control for years. Conveniently pinning the 'terrorist' plot on Yemeni al-Qaeda provides the perfect excuse for the U.S. to attack Yemen.
In Washington D.C. Everything is for Sale to the Highest Bidder
Who benefits from these fabricated terrorist attacks? There are a host of giant defense firms such as Halliburton, oil companies and at least one mercenary/security firm Xe (formerly Blackwater) -- that have reaped in billions of dollars due to government outsourcing and war crimes. Who benefits? The same people who have benefited for the past decade at the public's expense, both financially and morally. The Bush cabal and their friends profited greatly after the illegal invasion of Iraq while the rest of the world suffered.
Michael Chertoff, former head of the Department of Homeland Security will profit greatly when airports start using full body scanners. Chertoff is pushing the use of full body scanners at airports because his company represents a company that manufactures them. Airport scanners are nothing more than a scam, not to mention a massive infringement on your privacy. Despite the lies from the Transportation Security Administration, the body scanners that will be used in U.S. airports can and and will be used to store and export images of the people that are screened.
The government isn't being forthright about the intended use of full body scanners at airports. But then again, the government has been lying to the American people for decades. It's becoming harder for the government to get away with false flag terror attacks because so many people are becoming more aware of them. In America -- Washington D.C. in particular -- morality is gone and everything is for sale to the highest bidder, regardless of the cost to America and Democracy.
After all, as noted by Paul Craig Roberts, we're supposed to believe that al-Qaeda outwitted the CIA, the NSA and all the other U.S. intelligence agencies as well as those of all U.S. allies including Mossad, the National Security Council, NORAD, Air Traffic Control, Airport Security four times in one morning, and Dick Cheney, and, despite being untrained and inexperienced pilots, were able to pull off skilled piloting feats of crashing hijacked airliners into two World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon, one of the most secure buildings in the world whose air defenses were conveniently ordered by Dick Cheney to stand down and do nothing.
All You Need to do is Follow the Money
Why is the government trying to claim that al-Qaeda is responsible for the underwear bomb? After all, if al-Qaeda can carry out the greatest act of terror ever committed on American soil as the government has claimed, blowing up an airplane should be simple for them. Apparently 'al-Qaeda' is recruiting extremely ignorant people now. As also noted by Paul Craig Roberts, whoever is behind the Underwear Bomber case is laughing at our gullibility.
There are many in Washington -- especially the extreme right-wing elements deeply embedded in the U.S. National Security State with their own alternative agenda -- whose only desire is lead the U.S. deeper into becoming a police state and destroying Democracy. The incredibly small number of real terrorists has caused the U.S. government to artificially create more.
The 'war on terror' coupled with extremely corrupt, politicized Federal Court and Justice systems pose far greater threats to Americans than any terrorist ever could. The Federal Courts have egregiously shredded the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Recently, the Federal Appeals Court in the District of Columbia egregiously declared that the U.S. government is not bound by law during war -- regardless of the fact that the wars in Iran and Afghanistan are and were illegal. The Federal Appeals Court elevated the executive branch above the law, which is illegal.
The U.S. Supreme Court has illicitly done everything it can to make sure the rule of law only applies to citizens, not the Federal government and those in office that have committed egregious acts of treason and war crimes. The official story about the Underwear bomber is falling apart, and full of holes. To understand why and how these 'terrorist' incidents continue happening, all you need to do is follow the money.
