Congressman Alan Grayson from Florida's 8th district has made headlines repeatedly this fall as a freshman congressman. Grayson is known for calling Federal Reserve Senior Adviser Linda Robertson a “k street whore.” He also refered to former Vice President Dick Cheney as a vampire. Then there was also the website he formed, that was designed to honor the 44,000 people each year who die because they don't have health insurance.
Now a woman in central Florida has gone on the attack and made a parody of Grayson's website, "" except that hers is called, "".
Now Grayson has taken exception to the website and has demanded that Attorney General Eric Holder conduct an investigation and have they woman, Angie Langley thrown in jail.
The thing is Grayson has a point in that he hinges his argument on the word "my" in that Langley is claiming that Grayson is her representative in Washington which isn't true. Grayson represents the 8th district but Langley lives outside of the 8th district in Clermont, Florida.
In filing his four page complaint Grayson says, "Ms. Langley has deliberately masqueraded as a constituent of mine, in order to try to create the false appearance that she speaks for constituents who don't support me. [She] has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and juvenile."
Langley's position is that she was born and raised in Grayson's current district and that while the 8th district elected him he still serves as a representation of the State of Florida and that it doesn't matter where in Florida you live.
Grayson is claiming that Langley lied to federal election officials and that she should be fined and imprisoned for five years. He clearly laid out his points in a complaint to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Grayson's complaint can be seen by clicking on the link in his name at the beginning of this sentence.
There has been no word yet from Attorney General Holder's office as to whether or not his office would pursue prosecution of this case or look at other means to reconcile it.
