American golf star Tiger Woods is reported to be seriously injured in a car accident on Friday morning in Orlando, Florida, according to BBC. The police have not verified reports of the crash where Woods struck a fire hydrant at 2:23 a.m. The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Woods was pulling out of his driveway in his Cadillac Escalade and the airbags did not deploy, which indicates the vehicle was not driving fast. The Florida Highway Patrol said an investigation is currently occurring and charges were pending, notes Canada.com. He was later taken to the hospital in serious condition. A source told WESH-TV that charges are pending, and Woods was treated for facial lacerations. Woods is one of the highest paid golfers, making $110 million in 2008 from tournaments and endorsements. He's been the PGA Player of the Year a record nine times.
