'Devil' being filmed in downtown Toronto Special

At the corner of Bay Street and Adelaide Street in downtown Toronto on Sunday evening was the filming of a motion picture. After talking to a police officer, Digital Journal found out that the film "Devil" was being shot in a commercial building. The setting is supposed to take place in Philadelphia, as actors in Philadelphia police uniforms and police cars were stationed in front or in the building itself. Huge cranes of lights were also around the building itself with crew members assisting the director. Actors performing as paramedics wheeled dead bodies out of the building with one police officer, Geoffrey Arend, following right behind them.

The director conducted at least three shots of the same scene. For two hours, grips and other crew members prepared for that scene by setting up lights, cameras and other production technical aspects. “Devil”, a sequel to “30 Days of Night”, is scheduled to be released in 2011, which is based on a story by M. Night Shyamalan, and stars Geoffrey Arend, Matt Craven, Caroline Dhavernas, Chris Messina and Logan Marshall-Green. The horror/thriller is being directed by Drew Dowdle and John Erick Dowdle.

According to Reuters, “Devil” is part of a three-film financing/partnership called “Night Chronicles” and is slated for a PG-13 rating. This project will be independently financed with Media Rights Capital but no plot details were released. “This is a dream for me. I wanted to find filmmakers that inspire me and I found them.” Shyamalan said.
