'RiP! A Remix Manifesto' documentary premiering in UK and Denmark

"RiP! A Remix Manifesto" is a 2008 film about copyrights and copy fights. It shows how the concept of copyright is changing, following technological revolution, especially the rapid development of the Internet. The film was created over a period of six years by hundreds of people who voluntarily contributed to it. Brett Gaylor, the film's director, still encourages people to create their own remixes from this movie, using media available from the Open Source Cinema website, or other websites like YouTube, Flickr or MySpace. Everyone can watch the whole film on the ONF website and US residents can pay-what-you-want to download the film via ripremix.com. In UK, for the first time the film will be shown at Sheffield Documentary Festival on Nov. 4 and on Nov. 5. Its director Brett Gaylor and producer Mila Aung-Thwin, as well as copy fighter and Sci Fi author Cory Doctorow, will be attending the film. More information available at Sheffield Doc/Fest website.
