H1N1 Vaccines in Ontario Limited To High-Priority Groups

Three people have been confirmed to have died from the swine flu in Ontario. The latest victim is from the Niagara Falls region. According to Niagara health spokeswoman Fiona Peacefull, the woman had underlying medical conditions reports CP24. The production of the vaccine has slowed down after the manufacturer has started to make special unadjuvanted batches for women who are pregnant. People who are under 65 with pre-existing medical conditions, health care workers, children between the age of six months and under five, pregnant women and caregivers of those vulnerable who are unable to get the vaccine are most at risk for swine flu and should be getting the vaccine. The vaccine is also advised for those who live in remote areas. Ontario health clinics will be open only to those who fill into the above high-priority groups. On Friday it was announced that Ontario would only be allotted around 250,000 doses of the vaccine.
