Crossingham is a member of the Broken Social Scene Collective and his own band Raising the Fawn, according to PopMatters, produced some of the most underrated Canadian music of this decade.
Crossingham has written a book for nine to 12 year olds. The book, Learn to Speak Music: A Guide to Creating, Performing, and Promoting Your Songs, is published by OwlKids Books. The book is written for anyone who is just getting started and is looking to create their own music.
ChartAttack says Jeff Kuklak did the illustrations.
The book takes the reader through the process of forming a band, and gives information about performing, recording and promotion,
Sidebars that include tips from musicians like Broken Social Scene's Feist, Emily Haines, Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning and Andrew Whiteman, Alexisonfire and City And Colour's Dallas Green, Buck 65, Melissa Auf Der Maur and others are found throughout.
